Though their streamlined approach means they’re unlikely to have all bases covered in the future, they’d certainly benefit from making a few additions when it comes to the things mentioned below.

Our Verdict:

In 2023, customers are more spoilt for choice than ever before as regards the sheer number of options they have when choosing a bookmaker. Bet Rhino have clearly decided that they’re not going to try and compete with the giants like Ladbrokes, Betfair, Paddy Power or Bet365 who do everything: the big welcome offer, the endless ongoing bonuses, the 40+ sports, the numerous live streaming options, the huge number of payment options, the rich content on a blog and so on. To even begin to compete with them they’d need huge operational and marketing budgets, a big headcount and plenty of other resources.

So Bet Rhino have taken a very different approach: they’ve looked at what most customers are most interested in betting on in terms of the sports in question and the markets within those sports, have built a decent site, the odds are competitive and there are a few offers to take advantage of as a way to give something back and keep customers engaged. It’s a perfectly acceptable approach that’s likely to appeal to two types of customers in particular: the beginner who wants to keep things simple. And the discerning punter who knows what they like, tends to place the same sort of bets and just wants to focus on that rather than the rest of ‘the noise’.

So, they’ll certainly have a following who will enjoy the ‘no frills’ approach; but that does admittedly come at a price. The more sophisticated customer may not be best impressed by such things as: the absence of certain sports including the increasingly popular eSports, no live streaming, a very limited number of payment options, little content beyond the EPL stats and fewer promos than some of its competitors.

And perhaps above all: the current absence of a welcome offer entirely. Although as we explain below, a sign-up bonus isn’t the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to a bookie. But we think they have laid some good foundations already for a company less than two years old.

Strengths

  • On-site EPL stats save you time and effort when researching your bets.
  • Price history feature allows you to see how a horse’s odds have changed over time.
  • Take responsible gambling very seriously.
  • Good for betting on virtual sports.
  • Lots of Price Boosts across numerous sports.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Ireland horseracing.

Weaknesses

  • No welcome offer at present.
  • Few payment methods.
  • Less sports than at lots of other sites.
  • Customer Support doesn’t have phone line or Live Chat.

Intro

The challenge that a lot of brand-new sports betting sites have is a lack of experience when it comes to understanding the unique characteristics of what it means to have a good sportsbook that keeps customers happy. But that’s certainly not a problem here. Even though Bet Rhino has only been around since 2021, the company who owns it, Playbook Gaming Ltd, has certainly been around for a while.

The betting brands they own include: Slots Dreamer, Mr Mega, Damslots, Spicy Jackpots, Planet Sport Bet, Bez Zone and many more. So, they know what they’re doing as per the theme of this review: the ‘no-frills, focus on what matters’ approach for Bet Rhino obviously filled a gap in the portfolio of their brands they felt was worth filling.

It operates under the UK Gambling Commission License, is currently only available in English, can’t be accessed from the US and has a 95% pay out rate across its sports betting markets.

Sign Up offer

It’s the time in this Bet Rhino Sports review to talk about the Bet Rhino Sports sign-up offer. New customers at Bet Rhino can look forward to a welcome offer of Bet £25 Get £10. That’s not necessarily one of the most generous ones going but as we often say, the sign-up offer isn’t the be-all-and-end-all of a betting site.

Customers should see it as just that- a bonus- while giving the same importance to all the other important metrics when accessing a bookie, which we cover here. But here’s what you need to need to know about the welcome offer itself.

Notable terms and conditions

  • Customers must place a qualifying bet totalling at least £25 within 24 hours of opening their account at odds of at least 2.0.
  • The free £10 bet must be placed as one bet rather than split into smaller ones.
  • The free bet doesn’t have any minimum odds requirements.
  • In order to claim the welcome offer, customers need to enter promo code b25g10fb when registering their new account at Bet Rhino.
  • The free bet cannot be placed as a Bet Builder, nor can it be partially, or fully, Cashed Out.
  • The free bet must be used within 7 days of being awarded.

How to claim your welcome bonus

  • Register an account and enter promo code b25g10fb when you do so.
  • Place a qualifying bet of at least £25 at odds of at least 2.0 taking into account the restrictions on the types of bets you can place, as per above.
  • The free bet will be awarded as soon as the qualifying bet is settled.
  • Contact customerservice@rhino.bet if you don’t receive it.
  • Use your free bet as one bet for £10 within 7 days of it being awarded to you.

Registering an account

  • Click on the Sign Up button at the top right-hand side of the homepage.
  • Enter your e-mail and create a password you’ll easily remember.
  • Fill in the fields below including your personal details- such as name and address- and choose if you’d like to receive communications about marketing offers, and how (E-mail, SMS, phone).

Ongoing Promotions

There may not be a welcome offer but the Bet Rhino promotions page does have some offers of interest there. Here are some of the best.

Price Boosts

Above all the sports listed in the left-hand column is a tab that says Price Boosts. Click on it and you’ll see all the bets currently available where Bet Rhino have boosted the odds across such sports as football, tennis, NBA and golf. In all cases you won’t just be able to see the odds the bet was boosted to, you’ll also be able to see what they were before they were boosted. So you can work out how much value you’re getting for your money.

Bet £20 get 25 free spins

This is one of their favourites. A few times a week they’ll select a big football match and give you the chance to win 25 free spins on a slot of their choice, such as Dork Unit.

To get the free spins, you’ll need to place a qualifying bet of £20 or more on the game’s correct score market. In truth, it’s not the greatest value-for-money offer you’ll see in the world of online betting today. The 25 free spins are only worth £2.50 so just 12.5% of the value of your qualifying bet. But if you were going to place a correct score bet of £20 or more on the correct score market anyway, you might as well claim it.

Betting Markets and bet types

Bet Rhino betting is available across around 20 different sports. Now, that’s not that much compared to some of the other better-known bookmakers who cover just about any sport in the world played at a professional level. That means you won’t be able to bet on such things as: handball, skiing, surfing, volleyball or field hockey. Another notable absentee is eSports, which are all the rage at the moment.

But in keeping with their ‘no frills’ or ‘focus on what matters’ approach, they’re putting their resources into the big sports that most people want to bet on rather than the niche ones with a cult following that don’t actually bring in that much business. And here are a few good aspects of these bigger sports they put their energy into.

Sport Major competitions covered Good features
Football Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Champions League, Europa League, Ligue 1, FIFA World Cup, Euros, Copa Libertadores.
  • Bet Builders available on lesser leagues such as MLS or Portuguese Superliga.
  • Keep outright markets open as much as they can including: league winner, relegation for top leagues, teams to be promoted or Top 4 finish.
  • Lots of stats-related markets such as corners, cards, shots on target and goals, some of which have Odds Boosts applied to them.
Tennis AT Tour, WTA Tour, Challenger Tour, Davis Cup, Ante-post Grand Slam markets.
  • Offer odds on all the Challenger events as well as the top Tour tournaments.
  • Bet on Grand Slam outright markets almost a year before they begin.
  • Specials allow you to bet on two players to win a Grand Slam in the same bet. E.g., Nadal or Djokovic to win the French Open at 3.0.
  • Good for betting on doubles tennis.
Cricket Test matches, ODIs, T20Is, IPL, CPL, BBL, PSL, The Hundred, T20 World Cup, County Championship.
  • Decent odds on top batsman/bowler markets when betting on outsiders.
  • Domestic matches from all over the world available to bet on.
  • Filter upcoming matches by country, region, format or date.
Horseracing All UK and Ireland daily races, Cheltenham Festival, Aintree Festival.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Ireland horseraces as long as your bet was placed after 10am on the day of the race.
  • Easy to navigate through all the day’s races as you find them easily displayed all in the same place.
  • Price History feature lets you see the fluctuations in the odds of a particular horse.
Golf PGA Tour, DP Tour, LIV Tour, LPGA, The Majors, Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, NCAA National Championship.
  • Bet on two or more players to win a tournament in the same selection.
  • Interesting selection of markets ahead of the four Majors.

Other sports

So those are the most popular ones here at Bet Rhino. They also do a good job with the likes of basketball, boxing, snooker and Formula One.But here’s the thing: outside the likes of football and tennis, their selection of markets is far more limited than it is at far bigger and more established sites. But once again, this is in line with their approach of offering what customers most want rather than what customers might want.

Whereas that means there might be occasions where there’s a market you wish to bet on that simply isn’t available, for the most part it means that the most popular markets are easier to find. And that you don’t have to navigate through the clutter of 100s of markets that not many people actually play.

Betting Odds

So how are the Bet Rhino betting odds? They’re pretty decent. As an up-and-coming bookie rather than a giant one, they can’t afford to take too many risks by consistently offering higher odds than the rest as a few big losses could really hurt them.

But they’re certainly not what we’d call ‘stingy’ and as ever, betting on selections that have Odds Boosts can make a big difference. Especially as you can find them all in one place.

Betting Features

Now is the time in this Bet Rhino betting review where we consider the special features that they’ve made an effort to have in order to make a customer’s life easier or just add a little bit of sparkle to their experience.

Virtuals (Sports)

It may seem obvious that any proper sports bettor wants to bet on real football, tennis or golf tournaments played by real (human) professional players. But then again, who are we to judge? If customers would rather bet on video game-like versions of their favourite sports, then they should be able to.

And at Bet Rhino they’ll have plenty of choice, including virtual versions of football (multiple ones), greyhound racing, horseracing, tennis and golf. Customers can also choose when they want a particular match or race to start rather than having to wait around for the next one to begin. So, in that sense, you have more control over it all in terms of timings.

EPL Stats

One of the football bettors’ regular sources of irritation is looking at Premier League betting markets and then having to go to another site to do all their research ahead of picking their bets. Not at Bet Rhino. Navigate to the EPL Stats tab at the top of the homepage and you’ll find all sorts of insightful and helpful data relating to the Premier League.

This includes a team’s recent matches, head-to-head record against the side they’re about to play, current standings and stats around individual players. Not only is all the data extremely useful but it saves you having to leave the site and look somewhere else.Just remember that at the moment it’s for the Premier League only.

Responsible Gambling- Content, tools and support

This may not be the first thing you think of as a betting feature but it’s certainly something to be taken seriously. Bet Rhino take responsible gambling more seriously than most and one of their banners on the homepage has a section all about it.

It will identify warning signs that you or others may have a gambling problem, initial steps you can take to keep gambling under control, tools you can use to limit deposits or losses and of course, instructions as to how to go about self-excluding if you feel it’s time to go down the route. It also provides links to charities and other counselling organisations that you can contact if you feel you have a gambling problem.

This is hardly the sexiest element of online gambling but it’s certainly an extremely important one and it’s nice to see that Bet Rhino see things that way, as well.

Mobile App

The Bet Rhino betting app is available on both Android and iOS. For more info on downloading betting apps, visit our mobile betting app page.

They’ve obviously realised the importance of a good betting app because it’s just as good on Android and iOS, downloading is easy, quick to use and gives you just the same experience as what you’d get on your computer. All that said, if you still can’t be bothered to go through the process of downloading it or feel you have enough apps on your phone already, the mobile-friendly version of the site is extremely good anyway. So, you can bet on-the-go that way, if you prefer.

Customer Support

As is the case with most betting sites these days, they have some FAQs that will go some way to helping you resolve some of the most common queries/problems that customers may face. These include: how to deposit and withdraw, the length of time each may take, how to verify your identity and how to go about challenging the settlement of a bet, if necessary.

In keeping with a site that’s streamlined, there aren’t nearly as many FAQs here as there are at other sites where they have FAQs covering just about everything. So, if your problem still isn’t resolved, you can get in touch with an agent via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail: customerservice@rhino.bet.

At the moment you can’t reach them via phone or even more unusually, Live Chat. Let’s hope they add at least one of those contact methods in the near future.

Deposit/Withdrawal Options

There isn’t a great offering of payment methods here, which is a shame. When it comes to deposits, you’ll need to use VISA, Maestro, Mastercard in terms of cards, or make a bank transfer. If you wish, you can also send a cheque as a way of making a deposit, although that’s not ideal in terms of security or speed.

However, a nice feature is that if you’ve lined up a bet and don’t have the necessary funds to place it, you can go to ‘Top Up’ and just enter your card details directly there, rather than having to leave the bet slip and navigating to the Deposit section.

Withdrawals made to debit cards or via bank transfer will typically take 2-5 business days to be processed. As you can see, they don’t currently offer e-wallets, cryptocurrencies or alternative methods such as Google Pay or Apple Pay among their payment options, and this is one area we’d like to see them address.

FAQ

It is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission which we consider to be the most trusted and respected of the gambling licenses, meaning that you’re in safe hands when gambling at Bet Rhino.

Yes, it does. The promise to pay out at the odds at which you backed a winning horse or the horse’s Starting Price Odds- whichever is bigger- is made by Bet Rhino on all UK and Irish horseraces on a daily basis and applies to all bets placed at 10 am or later (up to the start of the race) on the day of the race.
