Premier League – Bournemouth v Newcastle – Sat 11 Nov – 5.30pm Kick-off

Bournemouth are struggling in the Premier League this season and apart from a 2-1 home win over Burnley, The Cherries have lost 6 games on the bounce.

Playing Man City away is always tough, but conceding 6 goals is always a concern. They did put on a good showing in the Carabao Cup at home to Liverpool, only losing to a world class strike in the closing stages by Darwin Nunez, so they will take lots of positives from that game.

At home to Wolves, Bournemouth can only have themselves to blame as a red card to Cook made it so much more difficult for them as they took the lead through Solanke, but after the red card, they conceded in the final minutes of the game.

Bournemouth can be buoyed by Newcastle United’s busy fixture list and with injuries mounting up and a trip back from Dortmund from Tuesday night, they must start the game fast and on the front foot. They can then look to cause Newcastle problems from set pieces and also from their intricate link up play through Solanke.

For Newcastle, they come into this on the back of a huge 1-0 home win over Arsenal and they are getting closer to a ‘top4’ place in the Premier League which is the aim for The Toon as they still hope to qualify from their Champions League group this season.

The defeat midweek in Dortmund has left them with a mountain to climb, but after the international break, Newcastle know they must beat AC Milan at home and hope results go their way in other games.

A trip to Bournemouth with a lot of injuries isn’t ideal, but Eddie Howe returns to his former club looking to grab all 3 points and they still have enough quality to do so, but can’t take anything for granted as the home side know this is a massive chance for them to add vital Premier League points.

Bournemouth will fancy getting something from the game as they look to bounce back from the loss at Man City and will be relieved they don’t have to play Man City again for a while. This game will be alot easier for them and they must play a confident game and look to repeat some of the previous home game efforts against Burnley and LIverpool.

For Newcastle, they know they can possibly get back in the ‘Top 4’ of the Premier League with a win , so it will be an intriguing match to watch.
