Champions League: Paris Saint Germain v Newcastle United – Tuesday 28th November – KO 8pm

Paris Saint Germain are out to avenge their 4-1 loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park and maintain a qualification spot in the Champions League knockout stages.

With growing injuries to Newcastle, there isn’t a worse place in Europe to go to than Paris as Mbappe and his PSG team will be ready to inflict a defeat to Newcastle, which will put them on the brink of the Europa League, or even worse, no European football from February 2024.

Newcastle started their campaign so well with a 0-0 draw away at AC Milan and then had a night to remember at home to PSG with a 4-1 win and one hell of a night for the fans as they welcomed back Champions League football to Newcastle.

Back to back defeats at home and then away to Borussia Dortmund have meant Newcastle need to get a point at least from this game to give them any chance of qualification at home to AC Milan in the final group game.

To make things worse for Newcastle, PSG played on Friday night at home and will have an extra days rest than this Newcastle side who played Saturday afternoon against Chelsea.

PSG were in fine form on Friday night with a 5-2 win over Monaco with Goncalo Romas opening the scoring, before an Mbappe strike and then Dembele added a superb third goal.

Nick Pope in the Newcastle goal will have a very busy night and this is a fine test for the young Goalkeeper to show what he is made of as an inspired night is what will be expected from him to stop this PSG attack from scoring.

One postive note for Newcastle is that PSG can be vulnerable defensively and with Gordon, Almiron and Joelinton fit, they could cause PSG defence problems, should they be able to get the ball in the final third.

Newcastle will have to take their chances, if they are going to get anything out of the game and the experienced Trippier is perfect to try and stop Mbappe, but others will need to have the game of their lives

Newcastle are really up against it in this match and with PSG having an extra days rest than Newcastle, this factor could play perfectly in PSG’s hands as they look to secure a win which should give them qualification to the next stage of the Champions League.

For Newcastle, they need to hope PSG have an off day in front of goal and also for The Toon fans to spur their side on.

Kylian Mbappe will be licking his lips with the injuries that Newcastle have and will be looking to add to his tally this season and this is linked to our bet of the day.

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime in the match at Evens with Bet365 is our bet of the day.
