The Premier League returns with a brilliant match as treble winners Manchester City host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are top of the League and looking to secure yet another Premier League home win. Their home form is absolutely amazing as have the best record in the Premier League going back to the start of the calendar year.
No team has been able to get the better of Manchester City at home and they continue to dominate the Premier League and with such outstanding form at home, it will take something special to beat them.
Erling Haaland limped off for Norway so is expected to have a late fitness test, but even a half fit Haaland can still cause problems for Premier League defences and especially Liverpool.
Foden, Grealish, Silva, Rodri and Alvarez are all expected to feature as the free flowing football of Manchester City will look to be on show on Saturday and with City’s defence showing good strength, Liverpool will need to take any chances they create and score.
Baring Arsenal finishing 2nd last season, the previous few year had seen Manchester City and Liverpool battle it out for the Premier League title with Manchester coming out on top, although LIverpool did secure one Premier League title.
Mo Salah is still around at LIverpool and will be looking to show his experience and class to grab a goal should a chance arise. Alexander Arnold in his new position can cause City problems and Jota, Diez and Nunez must be on top form for Liverpool to have any chance of coming away with a result.
In defence Allison stands tall and Van Dijk is available to play and both will need to be on their A game to restrict Man City to a few chances.
With the early start we may see a slow opening to the game, but when both teams get into their high press and high defensive lines, we’re expecting to see fireworks and this could mean for a very entertaining ending as both teams go for the win.
The excitement is building as these two sides will be ready to battle it out for the Premier League title and although nothing is won in November, a win for City will give them a nice gap over Liverpool.
But should Liverpool defeat City, then this blows the title race open!
