Premier League: Man City v Spurs – Sunday 3rd December 4.30pm KO

Manchester City are following a similar pattern to last season where they aren’t blowing every team away at this time of the season and seem to be giving other a chance to get a lead at the top of the table.

Last weekend, Manchester City let slip a one goal lead at home to Liverpool and defeats at Arsenal and Wolves leave Manchester City in 2nd place in the table behind Arsenal.

UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg match between Real Madrid and Manchester City FC at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on May 9, 2023 in Madrid, Spain.

Kevin De Bruyne is a long term absentee for Manchester City and after a few injuries in the squad including Rodri and John Stones, they seem to be getting back to full fitness so the likes of Haaland, Foden, Alvarez can hit top form.

Rodri in the centre of midfield continues to dominate games and with Ake and Walker looking strong in defence, Manchester City are still a big force in the Premier League.

This weekend they entertain a bogey team in Spurs, who in recent years have got the better of Manchester City including Champions League and Premier League.

This week Manchester City started poorly and a few mistakes let Leipzig take a 2-0 lead in the Champions League. But, like Champions, Manchester City came back to win 3-2 and it was the formidable front three who all scored to give City a confirmed place as group winners.

Defensively Manchester City aren’t looking as comfortable as they have been, as conceding 2 goals to Leipzig was a surprise and then 4 goals away at Chelsea as well, so with Son in good form, they need to watch out for Spurs counter attacks.

Manchester City will be happy Harry Kane has now left the club, and with a number of injuries, it seems Spurs are facing City at the wrong time.

After a brilliant start to the season, topping the table for the first few months, Spurs have lost 3 games on the bounce to Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa and are likely to make it 4 in a row this weekend.

Maddison being out is a huge blow and with their main centre back out as well, it is a tough place to be right now for a Spurs fan, having seen your team start the season so well.

Manchester City are big favourites to get back to Premier League winning ways this weekend and they welcome a Spurs side on the back of 3 losses in a row.

With many injuries, it’s the perfect time for Manchester city to roll over their bogey team.

However, Man City are not defensively as sharp as they can be, so it wouldn’t surprise us if spurs do get on the scoresheet.

Therefore, our bet of the day is 6/4 Manchester City to win and both teams to score.
