Brighton Hove Albion lost two key midfielders this summer but this shows no sign of stopping their fine continued run of good form in the Premier League.
After securing their best finish in the Premier League last season, Brighton have started as they mean to go on. Albeit they have beaten Luton and Wolves, they have been assured and clinical in their finishing as they opened their new season with two wins.
The loss of Alexis Mc Allister and Caicedo hasn’t derailed their squad and with smart investments and bringing through youth players, they have continued to play a superb brand of football under the guidance of Head Coach de Zerbi.
Brighton have won both games 4-1 and Solly March is in fine form with three goals to his name this season. March has impressed taking on a bigger role, but his natural ability on the ball, plus secured finishing makes him a player to watch this season.
Last season’s superstar for Brighton Mitoma burst into life this season with a superb opening goal at Wolves last weekend and will look to add to his account this weekend.
Visitors to the AMEX this weekend are West Ham, another side who lost an influential midfielder in Declan Rice, but have also started the season well.
Unbeaten in their two opening games, away at Bournemouth and at home to Chelsea, West Ham sit on 4 points and come into this game on the back of a superb 3–1 home win over Chelsea where Antonio and Paqueta were on the score sheet, but the debutant James Ward Proswe impressed with a couple of assists.
This is certain to be an entertaining match with both teams sure to play on the front foot, so goals could well be on the menu. Aguerd will be missing for West Ham after being sent off last weekend against Chelsea, so apart from this both teams are expected to be at full strength.
It could be a battle of the strikers as Antonio and Ferguson battle it out to get the better of their opposition, which could mean the likes of Bowen and March enjoy success with the spaces created.
