The Open Golf Championship – Outright Winner – Starts Thursday 20th July

This year’s Open Championship at Royal Liverpool promises to be one of the best in a long time. The top players in the world come into this tournament in red hot form with Mcllroy along with Scheffler playing some outstanding Golf and showing brilliant consistency over four rounds of Golf each week.

John Rahm can neve be counted out and after his Masters win earlier this year, he will relish the chance to add another Major win to his name this week. The Spanish man seems to be well rested and will look to show the world why he should be at the top of the rankings.

Last years winner Cameron Smith comes into this tournament in great form after winning the LIV Golf event at Centurion Club a few weeks ago and will relish the chance to repeat his Open Golf win of 2022. Aussie Smith was one of the rebels who moved to LIV Golf circuit, but will be out to take on the top three in the betting to win back to back Open Championships.

Brooks Koepka, 2nd in Masters tournament earlier this year, is another Golfer who can light up Royal Liverpool this week. Another LIV golf player in decent form Koepka has the consistency with his driving, iron and putting to put him in with a chance of winning this Major Tournament, given he as been at the business end before of a Major, and shown he can win.

Viktor Hovland has been playing excellent Golf on the PGA Tour and landed a big win recently, so will also look to win a Major on European soil. The cool Hovland has the iron play to put in four rounds of great Golf and be able to compete on Suday to land a Major title.

Rickie Fowler is having a special year and topped off by his first win in a long time, securing the play-off win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Fowler will also be up for the challenge of taking on Scheffler, Mcllory and Rahm with a sunday showdown and coming out on top.

Brit Tommy Fleetwood goes under the radar at times and he is one player that, if he gets on the birdie train, then he can rise up that leaderboard when it matters most and with a cool persona, Fleetwood would love nothing more than to be heading up the 18th hole on Sunday in pole position.

Shane Lowry won The Open Championship in 2019 and Tyrell Hatton offers a similar profile to Lowry and he could be one of the British outsiders to go well this week.

The Open Golf Championship – Outright Winner – Starts Thursday 20th July

Following the Golf as closely as we do, this years Open Championship is wide open and this shows by the betting with not much between the top players at the head of the betting. At Punters.pub our number one pick for this week is Scottie Scheffler to win The Open Championship Golf at 8/1 with Paddy Power – Each Way ⅕ the odds 8 places.

There is no better player in the world than Scheffler and he is the most consistent player on Tour in 2023. T5 in Scottish Open, T4 in Travellers Championship, 3rd in US Open, Scheffler is always in the mix at the business ends and he can rise to the top this week

One player who can rise to a major tournament is Dustin Johnson. He has the mental side to land another major win, even though he plies his trade on LIV golf tour. Our 2nd pick for The Open is Duston Johnson 30/1 with Bet365 – Each-Way ⅕ the odds 8 places
