China v England – FIFA World Cup Group Stage – 2nd Aug

England have taken maximum points from their opening two games of the FIFA World Cup group stage and take on China, knowing just a point will be good enough to make it through to the knockout stages.

The European Champions picked up an injury to Keira Walsh which is a blow to their way of playing, however with quality throughout the squad, England will look to replace here with one of the young talents.

England have yet to concede in the World Cup and with China unconvincing albeit beating Haiti 1-0, England are big favourites to win and secure top spot. Mary Earps will be looking for another clean sheet as the defence looks to be as strong as ever.

One change made in the attacking line up made instant dividends as Lauren James scored a great goal to give England a 1-0 win over Denmark and her performance was one that caught the eye. James looks so comfortable on the pitch and gave England extra balance on the left hand side of the pitch.

Georgia Stanway ran the midfield with Chloe Kelly and Alessia Russo looking buy up front and both of them are itching to get on the score sheet and hoping this will be the game it happens.

In both games so far England have started very well and put their opponents under pressure and it wouldn’t be a surprise if England do the same here and look to cause panic in the China defence.

The China team lost 1-0 to Denmark in the opening game and then reversed that scoreline when they faced Haiti. It’s unlikely they will cause England a lot of trouble, however, England knows that they have to be patient, not allowing China to catch them on the counter attack.

England will miss Walsh, so it will be interesting to see who plays in the centre of the pitch with Georgia Stanway.

China v England – FIFA World Cup Group Stage – 2nd Aug

England are big favourites to make it three wins in a row in the World Cup and the China team aren’t expected to give England many troubles. Russo and Kelly will be desperate to get on the score sheet and this could be the game that one of them does so.

England have won their two games 1-0 and our punters.pub bet of the day is England to make it a hat trick of 1-0 wins and thus England to beat China 1-0 in the correct score market, priced 5/1 with Bet365.
