This week we’re looking at the John Deere Classic Golf, an iconic event in the calendar which takes place in Illinois. It may not have the best players in the world in the line up, but for regular PGA Tour players, this represents a great chance to get a win or a top 10 finish under their belt, before they head over to England to take part in a Major tournament – The Open.

Denny McCarthy heads the betting following his impressive recent form. 2nd in The Memorial Tournament, losing narrowly in a play-off to Victor Hovland was a strong consistent display from the American, then to finish T20 in the US Open plus a T7 finish in Travellers Championship.
McCarthy is one to follow this week for sure as he is playing excellent Golf and with a ranking now of 33rd in PGA Tour, he is likely to be in the race for a big tournament win soon. McCarthy should like this course and knowing how to play at the business end of the tournament is key and he has no problems in shooting well across 4 rounds and has mix it with the best recently.
JT Poston won the tournament last year with an impressive -23. He hasn’t hit those heights again recently so will have to look to revisit that form to be in the mix come Sunday evening.
One player who is playing well this year and finished runner up last year is Emiliano Grillo. He won the Charles Scwabb Challenge a few months ago and was a Top 15 finisher at Travellers, so is one to consider here.
Another player who has hit a recent run of form is Lucas Glover. He was 4th in the Rocket Mortgage Classic and won this event in 2021, so is also one to follow at bigger odds.
Canadian Adam Hadwin played great golf last week in Rocket Mortgage Classic and set to line up this week and is one of the favourites in the betting to compete once again at the business end of the tournament. Finishing -24 for the week, got Hadwkin into a play-off, but Rickie Fowler managed to birdie the first play-off hole to win.

Finishing tied 4th last week in the Rocket Mortgage Classic and playing some great golf will give Glover the confidence he needs to come in this week and perform well. He won this tournament in 2021 so can look to give it a great shot to repeat this.
