FIFA Women’s World Cup England v Haiti – Saturday 22nd July

England face their first World Cup group stage against minnows Haiti and it’s a great chance for the Euro 2021 winners to kick-start their campaign in style. England come into the tournament as 2nd favourites behind back to back FIFA World Cup winners USA and will be looking for a confident boosting win after a couple of disappointing results in the preparation to the tournament.

Head Coach Sarina Wiegman has had a massively positive effect on the England Team which culminated in the winning of Euro 2021 on home soil a few years ago. Beating Germany 2-1 in the Final was a huge achievement by the Women’s England Team and they are fully focused on achieving their ultimate goal of winning the World Cup this summer.

Unfortunately for England two of their star players at Euro 2022 are injured in Beth Mead and Leah Williamson and this is a massive blow for the squad in achieving their goal.

England do have strength in depth in Elle Toone, Georgia Stanway, Alessia Russo and Rachel Daly which should give the Three Lions enough quality to qualify comfortably from the group stages and then give a strong account of themselves in the knock-out stages.

England finished their memorable campaign with a Finalisima penalty shoot out win over Brazil earlier this year and then lost to Australia and draw 0-0 with Portugal.

Now the real business starts and this match against a minnow team in Women’s World football is huge for England to rekindle their goals scoring form in a meaningful match.

It’s not clear who will start as the forward line for England, but they will be licking their lips with a massive chance to get on the score sheet as England are 1/50 to win the game, which being huge odds on favourites does come with a bit of pressure, but with Wiegman’s experience, she will have the team full switched on.

It’s likely to be an easy win for England and enable them to score a few goals with 4-0 being the most likely score line.

FIFA Women’s World Cup England v Haiti – Saturday 22nd July

England’s women open their FIFA World Cup campaign on Saturday morning against Haiti and at massive odds on, the Three Lions should comfortably be able to secure a confidence boosting win as they look to go deep in the tournament.

With this in mind, at Punters.pub our bet of the day is 23/20 for Georgia Stanway to score any time in the match with William Hill. Georgia has a good scoring record and her experience can help get England off and running.
