It’s the first of the men’s quarter finals and Jack Sinner is up first against Roman Safiullin. Number 8 ranked ATP player in the world Jack Sinner is a very strong favourite to make it through to the semi-final.
Sinner is playing some brilliant tennis and will be confident to win in straight set against Safiullin which may well be on Centre Court in front of a packed crowd. Sinner faced back to back Argentinians in the opening rounds of Wimbledon, winning both in straight sets against Cerundolo and Schwartzman. In the 3rd round he dropped his first set of Wimbledone to Halys, but dominated the game.
In the fourth round Sinner was superb once again to win in straight sets over Colombian Galan, but after a tie break opening set, stormed to a 6-4, 6-3 win over Galan, to set up a quarter final appearance at Wimbledon.
Roman Safiullin had a scare in his opening round coming through a tough 5 set match against Bautista Agut, but after that the Russian beat Moutet and then Pella in straight sets to progress through to the 4th round.
The toughest test came against Shapavalov from Canada, which Safiullin cam through really well. After losing the first set 6-3, Safiullin won 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 to make it through to Wimbledon quarter finals for the first time.
This promises to be a tough encounter for Safiullin, but we fancy him to take a set of Sinner and give him a game, so it won’t be plain sailing for the seeded player.
Moving to the Women’s quarter final and world ranked number 1 Iga Swiatek is first up to look to qualify to the semi-finals. Swiatek has looked very good so far in the tournament, just losing one set and this in her last match against Bencic from Switzerland. Until then Swiatek has played some beautiful tennis to ease past her first three opponents with ease.
This promises to be a stiffer test for Swiatek as Elina Svitolina can cause her problems. An opening straight set win over Venus Williams, was followed by a three set victory over Mertens. Then a comfortable straight set win over Kenin was followed by a tough encounter against former Wimbledone champion Azarenka.
Don’t expect this to be a comfortable ride for Swiatek. This match can go to a deciding set!

At Punters.pub, we like the look of Jack Sinner to win 3-1 in sets at 9/4 with Bet365. The highly rated Sinner has been superb all tournament so far, but won’t find it all his own way on quarter-final day.
Our 2nd Punters.pub bet of the day is Iga Swiatek to win 2-1 in sets at 11/4 with Bet365. Svitolina has played some tough matches so far and will be looking to give Swiatek a tough match here with a place in the semi-final at stake.
