Malta v England – UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifier – Friday 16th June

After a long season by the England players, they can look forward to a very comfortable UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifier away in Malta on Friday afternoon. Manchester City’s treble winning stars headed in the training camp with sore heads as Declan Rice also joined up with his European Conference League winners medal.

These players are very likely to not be involved in this match, which means it will be Harry Kane to lead the line and add to his record breaking tally of England goals. He will welcome the chance to end the season on a high after going unnoticed with his 30 Premier League goals, which in many seasons would have comfortably won the Golden Boot, but for the sensational Erling Haaland.

After the World Cup exit to France, England got right back to it on the road in Italy for match day 1 of the qualification stage of Euro 2014 win a hard fought 2-1 win, and then beat Ukraine 2-0 to make it a 100% start.

Malta are one of the weakest teams in qualification, so this works perfectly for England to not play their first side team and rotate their squad to give others a chance to play international football.

Well rested Bakayo Saka is likely to be given a starting berth following his fine season and with the likes of Mason Mount and Callum Wilson likely to feature, England have plenty of firepower to score plenty of goals.

James Maddison is another player who could well feature in the starting line up and with a move on the horizon following Leicester City’s relegation, he is one to watch on Friday as with his super dead ball skills and attacking into the box late, could get on the score sheet.

Another player who could be given a start is Phil Foden. With his cameo in the Champions League final, which almost ended up with a sublime 2nd goal for City, depending on his excessive celebrations or not, Foden could start in this one and most definitely end up hitting the back of the net.

Defensively, Jordan Pickford will most likely start in goal with Man Utd pairing of Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire also featuring. Kalvin Phillips may well feature in midfield with Jordan Henderson who will protect the defence well, enabling the top attacking players to do the business and ensure England win comfortably.

Malta v England – UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifier – Friday 16th June

For Punters.pub, our best bet for this UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifier is taking a correct score given England are massive odds on favourites to win the game. Given the poor record of the Maltese side, England will be expected to win comfortably and a 4-0 England win at 11/2 with Bet365 would be the way to play this one.
